Manchester-based relationships charity TLC: Talk, Listen, Change is kicking off a campaign this autumn to put an end to football-related domestic abuse in the Northwest and beyond.
The 'What's Coming Home?' campaign aims to raise awareness of domestic abuse linked to football and raise much-needed funds for the programmes which
help tackle it.
Research has found that domestic violence increases by 24% when England win or draw in a World Cup game. It spikes by 38% when they lose.
Police in England received over 13 hundred reports of domestic abuse linked to the previous World C
up. We don't want that to happen this time around.
TLC provides individual, couple and family counselling services led by BACP-accredited practitioners. We also offer support services for people who have been harmed, and behavioural change programmes for those who cause harm, including our Respect-accredited Men's programme.
We're encouraging everyone to get involved, show off their football skills and raise money for TLC to continue providing its vital services during a time we expect violence to be on the rise. Create your fundraising page today and start your fundraising journey.
