Home Start - Trafford, Salford and Wigan

Home-Start Trafford, Salford & Wigan (HSTSW) is a voluntary organisation, supporting local families who are experiencing difficulties or under stress. We have a team of dedicated, skilled volunteers whom have parenting experience, they visit families in the families’ own home for 2-3 hours per week. Volunteers are given appropriate training and are checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) prior to being matched with families. Friendship, coordinated support and practical help are offered. Volunteers build on parent’s skills; help boost self-esteem and confidence whilst enabling them to cope with the pressures of family life. Our aim is to help reduce stress and prevent crisis and breakdown.
